Traditional Farming in the Chilterns
the 4th of November,
Touring a farm in your wellies.
What an excellent reason
In the networking season
For a barbie
To warm up our bellies.
Liz and Steve Bateman have kindly opened their farm to the Chamber for the first time.
Hazeldene Farm is situated in an idyllic setting on the edge of Chesham in Asheridge Vale. Their business is rearing native rare breed stock which produces high quality meat which they sell for their farm shop. The farm is run on traditional principles, all the animals are well cared for and visitors are invited to take a look around the farm and meet the animals.
Please come prepared with your wellies, jumpers and scarfs as this is a great opportunity to see a traditional farm using methods which are no longer the standard in the meat farming industry. Modern factory farming puts low cost of meat before animal welfare. This does not have to be the case and Steve will explain on the night.
The BBQ will be fired up and you will be able to taste some of their home grown burgers.
A raffle will be held, with proceeds to Rennie Grove Hospice, with prizes of local produce.
Steve and Liz look forward to welcoming you to Hazeldene Farm on Wednesday 4th November.
