Our Mission
To serve the interests of local businesses and promote economic prosperity and better quality of life across the Chiltern region.
Through our strategic priorities, we seek to facilitate success for our members and our region: support SMEs, particularly through information and networking; support skills and training initiatives; and work to ensure a positive economic and business environment.
Key Objectives
The Chamber has key strategic objectives and a number of closely interlinked objectives:
Support our
members
Provide Productive
Opportunities
Create Conducive
Business Environments
Encourage Future
Workforce
The development of skills and training especially in young people in the region is considered as a precondition of building for sustainable economic growth in the area.
The Chamber supports skills development via
- Activities of Committee members
- Sharing information relating to skills, training & vocational education
- Encouraging our members to participate in work experience schemes
- Support of initiatives, such as the inaugural Bucks Skills Show
Economic
Development
We aim to promote the standard of living and economic health of The Chilterns by championing positive quantitative and qualitative changes. This may include the development of human capital, infrastructure, environmental sustainability and other initiatives. We recognise that economic development is a policy intervention endeavour with aims of economic and social well-being of people and will therefore seek to work closely with local councils and UK authorities towards that end. Economic growth will be a process of economic development. A long term aspect of the economic development strategy will be to facilitate inward investment both from outside the region and overseas.
