Chiltern Child Contact Centre donation

The Chiltern Chamber was delighted to be able to donate £250 to the Child Child Contact Centre at the Chamber Chatter event on 9th February.  The Chiltern Child Contact Centre was set up in 2011 operating out of Amersham Free Church and hold their sessions on a Saturday morning on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. The contact centre exists so that parenting need not end when a partnership does. It provides a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members.

It is a child centred environment that puts the needs of the children first. The centre provides, toys, games and books for children of all ages. Tea, coffee and other refreshments are provided. The Chiltern Child Contact Centre does not charge for the services, although some centres do. It is run by fully trained volunteers and staff. They are impartial and don’t take sides. They work to a strict confidentiality policy and have all been through an enhanced DBS check.

The Chamber Chair, Karen Pawlowska, said:  ‘We are so pleased to donate some of fund raising monies to help cover the Centre’s core costs for example insurance, website administration and training and want to take this opportunity to also thank the volunteers and supports for their valued work.’
