Second Monday of every month, an informal meeting and this month something a little different; Chamber Member Back Heathrow are sponsoring the Chatter evening and giving a short update on the growth plans for Heathrow Airport followed by an opportunity to speak to the local team over drinks and nibbles.  The meeting will start at 5pm, please join us for an informal chat about progress towards expansion at Heathrow and what it means for local communities.

Back Heathrow represents over 100,000 local people who support the campaign for growth at Heathrow – the UK’s only hub airport.

Over half of the UK’s trade (by value) travels through Heathrow and it is the UK’s largest single site employer – with over 80,000 staff on site and many more in the supply chain. Heathrow is also the world’s leading user of sustainable aviation fuel and will only be allowed to expand if it meets stringent rules on air quality, noise reduction and decarbonization.

Plans have been put forward for £49 billion of private investment to build a new runway, terminals and infrastructure to place it at the forefront of modern aviation, creating thousands of new jobs, apprenticeships and new destinations for exporters. The project will increase UK economic growth by £12 billion or 0.4% of GDP.
