I lead on the Chiltern Chamber of Commerce’s focus on skills, which is all about connecting business with future talent and supporting careers and skills development for all ages.
I am an imaginative, organised, results-driven project manager experienced in delivering both creative and skills projects. As part of an established portfolio career, I have two main roles. One is as the Skills Development Manager for the Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, and the second is as Creative Project Manager working with high profile clients and Bucks based SMEs.
In May 2015, I was tasked with setting up the Buckinghamshire Skills Hub in order to bridge the gap between education and employment to improve the work preparedness and careers awareness of young people. This has entailed recruiting the best team, launching two websites, building and motivating a volunteer Enterprise Adviser Network, and establishing the Bucks Skills Show, all resulting in an emerging skills ecosystem that connects and benefits young people, educators and businesses. A true win-win all round that has seen 52,000 student-employer encounters in 2016/17 academic year, and helped SMEs connect with and recruit exciting young talent. This work is now evolving to encompass whole life careers and growth sector skills needs in order to support the wider economic development agenda of the LEP.
CIM qualified I have experience of corporate and agency side working including running my own design agency in London’s Charlotte Street for five years. I continue to manage high profile creative projects for my Patchwork design arm.
Outside of work I have two busy almost teenage children; enjoy walking, running and more recently cycling in the Chiltern Hills; love going to the cinema, theatre and to see live music when I can; and have been a member of the same book club for 12 years.
